This brief for this project was to extend a small workers cottage to allow for increased living space and create a connection between the views to the north and the underused backyard. This was achieved by raising the cottage to create a generous ground plane with an open plan kitchen and living space that connects seamlessly with a sheltered deck to the north and courtyard to the south. Bedrooms and a bathroom in the treetops take advantage of the views upstairs to the north while a study nook sits aloft in the double height living space with views through the mango tress.
